"Your grandmother is depressing." A gust of wind blows in. Goosebumps erupt on my bare arms. The light hurts my eyes. I mutter something unintelligible and shake my head. "Your grandmother, she's depressing." the other insists. "She does nothing but sit there, quietly, staring into the distance." A pause. Breathing. Mine or the voice's. I can't tell. I have briefly considered burning. Though always smouldering, there was never quite a flame, so to speak. I have always been more like a dim light, glaring from a distance. After lengthy consideration, it has been decided that the acrid stench would do me no favours. I have grown to accept that I am no star, no source of light for the malcontent. I am just one small light, flickering, wavering, barely existing; Yet I carry on and that is good enough for now.

So I was randomly clicking through some of my previously uploaded photos and poems, and I came to an astounding revelation. Several of my works have been downloaded, which I'm totally ok with and a little flattered by, especially where my poems are concerned. But the problem is, while people have been downloading my stuff, they haven't been adding them as favourites or commenting to let me know what they think of them. Promises, promises...

For all my raving about how I was going to get back to writing back in whatever month I made my last journal entry, I didn't really manage to do a good job. Nor have I taken more than a handful of photos in that time. It would seem that I was missing a key ingredient. I had the emotional instability, I had the time, but I didn't have something for the writing, photography and sketching to distract me from. Now that I'm back in college, I have plenty of reason to procrastinate; so many essays to avoid doing, so many notes to doodle in the margins of! So I shall be back with a bang.
